W.A.R. - Working Against Recidivism
W.A.R. creates a safe, structured environment where youth can openly discuss and process issues such as:
-
Redlining and systemic inequities
-
Structural racism
-
Broken homes and family instability
-
Childhood trauma
-
Emotional regulation and decision-making
-
Identity, accountability, and future planning
The goal is not just behavioral correction, but deep transformation-helping youth understand their experiences, reframe their narratives, and build a pathway forward. This initiative is more than mentoring, it’s intervention, advocacy, and restoration.
G.R.O.W.T.H Gardens - Growing, Resilience, Opportunity, Wellness, Tactfulness, and Health
Growth Gardens is a hands-on horticulture and workforce development program
operating inside the Champaign County Juvenile Detention Center and extending into
the community upon youth reentry. Inside the facility, youth cultivate an 80' x 24'
garden space, growing a variety of product while learning the fundamentals of horticulture, food systems, responsibility, and teamwork. The produce grown supplements meals within the facility, reinforcing the value of self-sufficiency and healthy living.

Key Partnerships
Parkland College
Provides structured horticulture education and classroom instruction inside the facility.

Sola Gratia Farm
Provides a dedicated garden plot and employment pathway for youth upon release. Participants transition into paid roles, continuing their agricultural training in a real-world setting.

Prosperity Gardens
Assists with garden development, cultivation support, and mentoring inside the detention center.

Triple B - Brain and Body Bootcamp
Triple B is a youth development program focused on building mental resilience, physical strength, and personal discipline among youth in the juvenile detention center. Through guided exercises, real-life discussions, and consistent mentorship, Triple B creates a space where youth can challenge themselves, grow, and begin to reshape their mindset and future outlook.
In partnership with military training captain Makiya Thomas, the program provides weekly structured sessions that combine both mental and physical training. These sessions are designed to help participants develop:
-
Mental toughness and emotional control
-
Accountability and self-discipline
-
Physical fitness and healthy habits
-
Confidence and leadership skills

Grass Roots Generosity
Grass Roots Generosity is a community outreach and youth development initiative designed to teach young people the value of service, humility, responsibility, teamwork, and entrepreneurship through community lawn care assistance.
Rather than charging fixed prices for lawn services, participating youth provide grass-cutting and basic lawn maintenance services on a donation-based model. Community members are encouraged to contribute voluntarily based on their ability and appreciation for the service provided.
This approach allows youth participants to:
-
Learn the importance of giving back to the community
-
Develop strong work ethic and leadership skills
-
Gain hands-on experience in teamwork and responsibility
-
Build confidence through positive community engagement
-
Understand financial stewardship and resource management
-
Earn community-supported compensation for their efforts

Donate Today!
Donations made to BUSYBODYS Inc. directly support the growth and impact of our community programs. Contributions help us purchase equipment and supplies for our Growth Garden Program and our Grassroots Generosity initiative, where youth give back through community service projects.
Donations also help provide snacks, books, and educational resources for the youth we serve at the juvenile detention center in Champaign County. Through our Triple B Program, contributions assist with obtaining workout and fitness equipment that promotes health, discipline, and personal development for participating youth.
In addition, community support allows us to provide stipends for the young people working at our second Growth Garden site, giving them opportunities to earn income, develop responsibility, and gain hands-on experience in teamwork, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
